Our Worship

Sunday worship draws from a time-tested series of prayers, Bible and other readings, musical selections, hymns, and other elements selected for their harmony, instructional qualities, inspirational value, beauty, and dignity. The worship service begins at 11:00 a.m., lasts about an hour, and includes a sermon.

The congregation takes pride in its open pulpit. In addition to our own minister, we hear throughout the year from lay members, prominent community members, seminarians, and ministers from other churches. Lay liturgists, who help plan the services, provide continuity, as does our music program. Our choir lifts their voices in one of the metropolitan area's acoustically most exciting spaces. Newcomers are always welcome to join in their rehearsals, which are help Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m.

A communion service, open to all, is held roughly once each quarter.

The church has special worship services on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.
